I bought a ticket but the app isn’t showing it. What’s wrong?

Passes can be purchased on the My Fare app or at ticket vending machines located at Bay 7 and Bay 32. You can also pay $11.25 in cash to the operator or you can show a valid monthly pass, low-income pass, UPass or senior yearly pass. Southwest Calgary was chosen primarily on ridership levels. Each ticket includes a visual validation bar as well as a unique barcode that will occasionally be scanned by Transit officials as part of an inspection process. Please present your mobile ticket for inspection, if requested. Single tickets are still valid within the 90-minute limit.

Is My Fare available on all devices?

From August 26 until further notice, stop #8765, located northbound 17A Street S.W. Stop #5303 located on northbound 1 Street @ 7 Avenue S.W. Starting Tuesday, October 18 through Tuesday, January 31 at the end of service, 1 Street will be closed between Avenue S.W. And continuing until Friday, June 30 at the end of service, southbound 8 Street S.W. Sidewalk will be closed south of 11 Avenue S.W. You have an option to save your credit card details in the My Fare app for future transactions.

To do so, login to your account from your new device and your unused tickets will be displayed. Please note that tickets on your old device will become invalid. You are responsible for having a mobile phone in good working order and usable prior to boarding and through the duration of your trip. If your mobile phone is inoperable, it is expected that you would use some other payment method for your trip. Mobile tickets are validated through the fixed on-board validators on vehicles. Each single ticket and day pass is valid for seven days from date of purchase.

The app will let you know where and when to wait for your ride, so you just have to make sure you leave yourself enough time to walk to your pick up location. If you’d like, you can use the map within the app to make sure you’re heading to the right spot. The TD Free Fare Zone

If you are 65 or older the Senior Yearly Pass is for you! With this pass you are entitled to unlimited access to regular Calgary Transit services. Rates may vary due to proration based on the month of birth of the applicant. To check the status of a specific route, enter a route number below and press enter on your keyboard or "done" or "go" on your mobile device. If you lose your device or purchase a new one, you can transfer any valid, unused tickets to a new device.

In the middle of the day, the wait times will be shorter. You MUST activate your ticket or pass prior to boarding a Transit vehicle or prior to entering a fare restricted area. Be ready to scan your pass or ticket at the onboard validator when boarding a vehicle or show to a Calgary Transit official upon request. You can learn more about the provincial mandate here. For both pre-booked and last-minute trips, once you book a trip, the app will give you estimated times for pick-up and arrival at your destination.

Once the purchase is complete, the ticket or pass can be found in your child’s ticket wallet. If you don’t see it there right away, tap the sync button in the wallet. If you lose cell phone service after activating and boarding the vehicle you will be able to activate and display the ticket from the ticket wallet. Monthly passes are valid for one calendar month (e.g. November 1-30). After the 14th, only the following month’s pass is available. CTA is doing its part by ensuring we provide clean, well- sanitized vehicles and enforcing good hygiene practices amongst all our employees and partner agencies.

What is My Fare?

If your ticket/pass says “Inactive,” you’ll need to activate it before boarding your bus or entering the paid fare area. Select the ticket/pass you wish to use and tap the green “Activate Ticket” button. A screen will pop up, letting you know your ticket details. Tap “Agree and Continue” and your activated ticket will show on your screen.
